Hi guys and welcome to our opticstrade youtube channel today i will talk about nikon monarch, 5, 10 by 42. Binoculars nikon was founded in 1917 in tokyo, japan and is one of the oldest and the most respected names offering optics and imaging products. They manufacture, binoculars, rifle scopes, spotting scopes and range finders, and they are also big in the field of photography. Nikon technology provides view through enhanced, with genuine vibrant colors, thanks to many years of experience in film and photography and sport optics is no different. We have three different models in this series: 8 by 42, 10 by 42 and 12 by 42, and all three models are made in china.
This 10 by 42 model has a classic nikon design with some stylish details. Some lines here and also on the other side is really elegant. It’s simple: it’s black with some um some gold markings here is the name of the manufacturer, the name of the series also here the name of the manufacturer and on the focusing wheel, the name of the manufacturer, sirius and model by 42, and that they are waterproof Binoculars are protected with thick rubber armor for optimal protection against shock and scratches, and because of this rubber armor, you have a really non-slip grip, even in the wettest conditions, they also have ergonomic design at the back of binoculars. Here you can see that it’s almost as a pump depressions, so it’s really comfortable to hold and handle and carry with you all day. They are designed to withstand wet conditions, so they are filled with nitrogen and o-ring, sealed to complete for complete, waterproof and also fog.
Proof performance, they feature the electric coated, schmidt, perham, roof prisms and they have single hinge design. The bridge is quite large or long, so it’s really hard to use them with just one hand. You can’t wrap the whole hand around the barrels, but you can also use and focus binoculars with one hand. They are around 12 centimeters wide and 14 centimeters long, so they’re quite average for this model 10 by 42, and they weighed around 610g grams. So they are quite light.
You can also attach binoculars on a tripod by removing this screw cap at the bottom of binoculars and attach a tripod adapter here, but for this model 10×42, it’s it’s not um. You don’t need to uh attach it on by not on a tripod, because they are not so heavy, so the image is steady if you are holding them in your hand for a long time, optically they feature fully multi-coated eco glass, lenses and binoculars are also built With nikon legendary edie, so extra low dispersion, glass lenses, which correct chromatic aberrations and thanks to the eel glass, the image will maintain superior high contrast, and the resolution is also really high, and this also results in a brighter image. With with vivid colors. Image is also sharp at the edges, but it’s at the center, but it’s not so sharp at the edges. The field of view could be definitely better.
It’S only 96 meters at thousand meters binoculars also has have some chromatic aberration and internal reflections. Let’s move on to the eye cups, so they have turntable eye cups and they are clickable, so you can hear them and they have four positions. So this is one two three and four: the turning is quite easy and smooth and they are um. The eye cups are covered with rubber, so they are quite comfortable to use. They are also suitable for eyeglass viewers, but eye cups are not so stable.
So if you press on them they fold so see they can fold. You can sharpen image quality with a focus wheel at the center of binoculars. Here they feature these notches for a better grip. The finish is made out of rubber, so the quality is really good. Um and the the the focusing wheel is actually really compact.
The turning is quite hard, so you can’t accidentally change the focusing the focus or move the wheel, but it’s also smooth enough to you, so you can use it with just one finger and also because of these notches you can use it with gloves. Focusing is not too fast or too slow, so it’s somewhere in between, so you can use it for bird watching and also for hunting. You can adjust the image sharpness with this adjustment ring for diopter, which is positioned on the right eyepiece under the eye cups here, and this ring also has this notches for easier adjustment and better grip. Okay, so let’s see what’s included in the box, you got this durable soft case for binoculars with some leather details. Inside of the case is padded for a better protection you can see.
Then you get neoprene neck, strap for binoculars, [ Applause ]! You get rubber objective lens covers which can attach on the barrels, so you can’t lose them so, and they are also really great uh build quality, and this is really nice feature, so you can have them while using binoculars. Then you get plastic eye. Cups. Eyepiece lens covers, then you get short general information instructions and instruction manual, both in multiple languages, and then you get a warranty card with 10 years of warranty for your binoculars.
Okay, so let’s say uh some good and some bad points for these binoculars and let’s start with the good points. So definitely the good point is that they are really small and lightweight, so they are really really easy to carry around with you all day. These binoculars have an ergonomic design with some thumb depressions on the back. They are waterproof and fog proof they have fully multi-coated and easy glass lenses, so the image is really bright and sharp with vivid colors. The build quality is really good.
Overall, the build quality and the build quality of the focusing wheel and the eye cups. They are also suitable for those who wear eyeglasses and they have 10 years of warranty and some bad points. Field of view could definitely be better. There are some chromatic aberration and a little internal reflections eye cups are not stable. So if you press on them, they can they can fold.
The case for binoculars does not close completely. So let me show you if so binoculars are not entirely protected. You can see here the holes and you also don’t get any carrying strap for the case. Also, there is no cleaning cut included in the box and you get plastic eyepiece covers so they can really bro bro break um. So it could be better if they would be uh made out of rubber and they are a little expensive for what you get.
They are 390 euros. So i will recommend these binoculars for bird watchers and hunters who hunt in the mountains, and they are definitely not for the beginners and they are for those who are not buying binoculars for the first time because they are a little expensive. So this is it. Thank you guys for watching. If you found this video useful, please subscribe to our youtube channel and see you next time.
